Launched by the vibrant community of historians at Sungkyunkwan, GIHU aims to foster a culture of academic camaraderie among intellectual historians who appreciate the value of the diligent review of sources: texts, authors and the world surrounding them.

We shun facile presentism and essentialist abstractions: the idea is to combine traditional historical scholarship with new historiographical insights.

We host various events including seminars, workshops, reading sessions and the Reflexions.
