성균관대학교 사학과를 졸업하고, 동 대학교 사학과 대학원에서 석사학위를 받았다. 조선후기 유학사상사에 관심을 두고 공부해왔다. 박사과정 연구 주제는 조선시대 효 윤리가 정치담론으로 활용되는 역사적 과정과 그와 밀접히 관련된 경학사적 맥락을 탐구하는 것이다. 주요 논문으로는 「18세기 少論 尹光紹의 家學 계승과 정치활동」, 「조선시대 효치론에 대한 재검토: 겸재 박성원의 『돈효록』을 중심으로」 등이 있다. 2025년 한국고전번역원 3년 연수과정을 수료하였으며, 2025년 9월부터 2026년 8월까지 루르-보훔대학교 동아시아학부 한국학과 방문학자로 있다.

Jongwon Lee received his BA and MA from the Department of History in Sungkyunkwan University. His research focuses on the history of Confucian thought in the late Joseon period. His doctoral research is an investigation into the historical process through which the ethics of filial piety in the Joseon dynasty were employed as political discourse, along with the closely related context of Confucian classics. His major publications include “The Family Learning(家學) and Political Activities of Soron(少論) Yoon Kwang-so(尹光紹) during the 18th Century” and “Reexamination of the Theory of Ruling with Filial Piety in the Joseon Dynasty : Focusing on the Donhyorok of Park Sungwon”. He also completed a three-year training program at the Institute for the Translation of Korean Classics. From September 2025 to August 2026 he serves as a Visiting Scholar in Korean Studies (Language and Culture) at the Faculty of East Asian Studies, Ruhr University Bochum.
