성균관대학교 사학과를 졸업하고 동 대학원에서 석사학위를 받았다. 재미한인사회가 분단, 전쟁이라는 물리적인 단절을 겪지 않았음에 착안하여 21세기 중반 한인사회의 정치적, 사회적 변화를 연구한다. 로스앤젤레스의 도시화, 한인 인구 분포 변화에 따른 재미한인사회 내 구조적 변화와 정치적 변동을 주제로 하는 박사학위논문을 준비하고 있다. 주요 논문으로는 「1958-1961년 북미 대한인국민회의 비정치화와 ‘재건안’」, 「1938년 재미한인사회의 갈등 속 신두식(申斗湜)의 역할」 등이 있다. 2021년부터 2025년까지 국회 기록보존소 주관 임시의정원 기록물 조사 및 수집 사업의 공동연구원(PM)을 수행하였다. 2023년부터 현재까지 성공회대학교 동아시아연구소 연구원으로 각종 프로젝트와 발표를 수행하였다.

Younghun Park is a PhD candidate in the Department of History, Sungkyunkwan University. He studies political and social changes in mid-twenty-first century Korean American community that did not experience physical discontinuities such as national division and Korean War. His dissertation is focused on the change of structure and political landscape in Korean American community as consequence of urbanization of Los Angeles and shift of Korean American population. His major publication includes depoliticization of Korean National Association of North America and a role of Doo Sik Shynn during struggle of Korean American Community in 1938, which are part of the change within Korean American community mentioned above. He has served as project manager for the collection project of Korean Provisional Assembly records from 2021 to 2025. He received OKSHF research grant from the University of Southern California in 2025. Since 2023 he has been enrolled as researcher of Institute for East Asian Studies at Songkonghoe University, conducting academic projects and conferences.
